A gift to the IMF is an investment in our mission. It is trust in the work we do every day to advance research and care for myeloma patients. With your help, we can continue to develop effective solutions for something that is as life-altering and devastating as myeloma. Together, we can make life slightly better for those who look to us to do something.

By giving to the IMF, you are providing critical resources to our organization and community to continue our fight against myeloma and move the needle on finding a cure. Make an impact in the lives of myeloma patients by investing in the innovative science that is advancing the field of myeloma. By investing in IMF research, you are promoting collaboration among myeloma experts that has the potential to significantly improve the lives of those living with myeloma, and ultimately find a cure for this complex disease.

"Action without vision is only passing time. Vision without action is merely daydreaming, but vision with action can change the world." — Nelson Mandela

The International Myeloma Foundation was built on ACTION. The IMF relies on the generosity of our supporters and donors. We are happy to help you take action in ways that are creative and thoughtful. Gifts can be designated toward a specific program or service, or designated toward the IMF's general operating fund, which supports our patient advocacy, education, and support programs.

There are many ways to give to the IMF, and if and when you begin thinking about your philanthropic engagement with the IMF, please contact Sylvia Dsouza, IMF Vice President, Development at sdsouza@myeloma.org or 818-487-7455 x268, to start a conversation. We are eager to discuss how your gift can be transformational for myeloma patients and their families throughout the world. We can discuss and help you structure tax-deductible gifts and also gifts as part of your estate planning.

We welcome one- time and recurring gifts and as well as pledges over a period of time.

Unrestricted gifts are the most valuable to the IMF because they allow us to allocate funds wherever the need is immediate and greatest and take advantage of unique opportunities as they arise.

Directed gifts allow us to designate your gift to a specific program or priority area at the IMF. This type of gift is personal and allows for deep philanthropic fulfillment and connection to an area that means a lot to you and your loved ones and you wish to have a long-lasting impact on.

Both unrestricted and directed gifts can be for:

Current use: These gifts provide immediate funds and flexibility over the short term (for example, launching an initiative or a project).

Endowment gifts provide security over the long term by expanding IMF’s long term financial base. This allows for a predictable source for future philanthropic revenue and helps us take on long-term project without financial constraints.

In addition to providing general operating support, some specific programs that have received the greatest impact from major gifts include:
